STOCK MARKET: CAC 40 Expected to Be Close to Balance as Wall Street Remains Closed

PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones) – The Paris stock market is expected to open close to balance on Wednesday, as the session promises to be calm due to the closure of Wall Street for a public holiday in the United States.

Around 8:30 a.m., the CAC 40 futures contract lost 2 points, or 0.03%, according to data from broker IG.

In the UK, inflation slowed in May to reach the Bank of England’s (BOE) target, whose monetary policy decision is expected on Thursday. Consumer prices thus increased by 2% year-on-year in May, after a 2.3% increase in April.

Among the companies represented in the SBF 120 index, Société Générale has entered into an exclusive agreement with Danish software package publisher Ageras to sell its online micro-business bank Shine. The transaction amount was not sent. Societe Generale expects to complete this operation in the first half of 2025.

Construction and concessions group Vinci saw an increase in traffic at its airports in May, while traffic on its motorways fell slightly. The airport managed by Vinci Airports recorded a year-on-year increase in passenger traffic of 8.7% last month. Traffic on the Vinci Autoroutes fell by 0.4% year-on-year in May, which was mainly punished by a 0.9% drop in HGVs.

Frames and prescription lens manufacturer EssilorLuxottica has signed an exclusive ten-year license agreement for the design, manufacture and global distribution of Diesel eyewear. The financial terms of the operation were not disclosed. The first collection resulting from this agreement will be launched in the first quarter of 2025.
